If you refuse to submit to a chemical breath/blood test your driving privileges will be revoked by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles regardless of whether you are convicted or not.
If you are convicted for a DWI offense your driving privileges will be suspended or revoked for a period of time, among other fines and penalties which will be imposed. You may even have to install an ignition interlock device on every car you own.
